Default A bit soul-less but will get much better

Returned Friday 22nd August from a week in a Ramsay lodge. Without a doubt the worst weather ever experienced on a holiday anywhere "November in August!" However, we had a very enjoyable week and in spite of the torrential rain and gales we found plenty to do both on and off-site.
Would give 6/10 at present as still a lot of work needs to be done. Badly lacking a good path network, especially the Nature Trail which was unpassable due to the depth of mud. As a result, one of the major on-site assets, that it is partly in a national park could not be accessed. A boardwalk would easily do away with the underfoot problems and should really have been made a priority on opening. At present most pathways are unlit at night and have to be shared with the golf buggies, bikes and vehicles -hopefully proper pedestrian pathways are being planned.
The site is lacking in younger childrens facilities - very limited outdoor and indoor play areas at present. Hopefully there are plans for more play areas around the site. Also there are and no suitable slides for 3 to 5 year olds in the Blue Lagoon, though younger and older children are well catered for. The waves and the Lazy River were great fun.
The restaurants and sports centre are good but lacking atmosphere at present - just bare walls and no pictures/posters on the walls. The food was generally excellent.
Accommodation was very good, though still with teething problems. With the force of the wind, rain was getting in to our bedroom via patio doors with an annoying drip, drip, drip inside the room!!
Once all the initial generally minor problems have been resolved and the place develops it's own identity and soul - it is not a Welsh Centre Parcs and should not be compared - it will be excellent. There are excellent facilities for all age groups within a short drive from Bluestone - Folly Farm, Dinosaur Park, Oakwood, boat trips to the islands etc - and Pembrokeshire really is a fabulous area, even in the heart of a monsoon.
We will definitely return within to Bluestone the next couple of years and look forward to seeing the expected improvements.
