Press Release: Gordon Brown Bottom of Holiday Poll

Press Release: Gordon Brown Bottom of Holiday Poll.

15 June 2008

"Parents said a big No Prime Minister to Gordon Brown as they placed him
bottom of a poll to find the celebrity family the nation would most like to
join on holiday.

Gordon Brown and family, who tend to holiday in the Prime Minister’s native
Scotland, were beaten by Conservative leader David and Samantha Cameron.

But both politicians were beaten by The Beckhams, Madonna’s family and
celebrity chef Jamie Oliver and family, who topped the poll by award winning
family travel website takethefamily.com with 67% of the vote.

Takethefamily managing director Lucy Ace said: “More and more families are
getting together to holiday in larger groups; ¬It lets you hire a bigger
villa and means your kids have other children to play with. So we though it
would be fun to see who would be the ultimate family to join on holiday.”

Unfortunately for the Prime Minister and to a lesser extent Mr Cameron,
this was one election they didn’t win. They found Jamie Oliver’s family a
much more appetizing prospect."

The full poll results were as follows:

Which celebrity family would you most like to go on holiday with?:

67% : The Jamie Olivers
15% : The Beckhams
10% : The Madonna / Ritchies
7% : The Camerons
1% : The Browns

409 families participated in the survey via Take the Family's site. 276 families would most like to go on holiday with ‘The Jamie Olivers’, 62 families would most like to go with ‘The Beckhams’, 35 families would most like to go with ‘The Madonna/Ritchies’, 29 families would most like to go ‘The Camerons’, and 7 families would most like to go with ‘The Browns’.
