Hong Kong has rooms to suit family holidays on every budget, from the very basic to the out-of-this-world super-luxurious. The classic place for a splurge is the world-famous Peninsula with its own fleet of chauffeur-driven Rolls Royces, where family offerings include cookery classes for ages 6–12, children’s menus, and a swimming pool.
On a mid-range budget you should expect to get a hotel offering babysitting services and a decent restaurant. Disney’s Hollywood Hotel is conveniently located to Disneyland and has babysitting services, kids’ activities and a buffet restaurant.
Or try The Salisbury YMCA, which is super-relaxed and central and has great facilities, including family suites with sofabeds, laidback restaurants (one with its own kids’ playground), a swimming pool plus a kids’ pool, and an on-site launderette.
