Award winning Club Med La Caravelle (Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence 2016 and greenleaders bronze), is a family-focused all-inclusive resort on the south coast of Guadeloupe, part of the French West Indies. The resort is set in lovely tropical gardens and a sheltered bay, making this perfect for active families (the resort welcomes children over 2 years) who want to take advantage of the many schools this resort has set up to teach new skills; from circus skills to tennis, windsurfing and more besides. When you have finished your lessons for the day, it is worth stepping out of the resort; Saint-Anne is a 3km car ride and has lively Thursday markets and the capital, Pointe-à-Pitre, has a charming old town worth a meander (20km).
The hotel’s amenities include the excellent kids’ club, which has a well-thought out and varied itinerary to keep kids happy while you head for a massage. There’s also the pool and two terraced restaurants as well as two bars (one on the beach). It’s the schools that excel themselves; you can all take up tennis, archery, volleyball or beach soccer (all free) as well as scuba-diving, golf or swimming lessons (extra).
The rooms are on the generous side but simple and come with great views of the sea or gardens.
