Disney’s Port Orleans Resort is a charming and laid-back resort, evoking the spirit of the Deep South in the 1920s. Located on the Sassagoula River, Orlando, the main building resembles a steamboat ticket station and the other buildings are reminiscent of colonial plantations, all columns and fretwork, making this a very attractive place to wander around. Families will love stepping back into the past, exploring the grounds and lake together on bikes or in the boats and pedalos that are available to rent.
The resort is one of the smaller ones, and all the more charming for it, but there are still plenty of facilities to keep everyone happy. Kids will enjoy the boat ride from the resort that takes you to downtown Disney, the huge water complex that’s on an island complete with waterslide and separate kids’ pool (in total there are six pools around the resort), playground and the food court and restaurant, all offering up a huge variety of dishes and snacks. There’s a free shuttle service and parking.
Rooms sleep up to four and are spacious with free WiFi and ceiling fans.
