The water around the resorts is calm and shallow so little ones can enjoy a long safe paddle and the older ones will be willing to try their hand at the activities on offer. Children are encouraged every step of the way by excellent instructors and whether your kids are shy and retiring or more gung-ho, by the end of the holiday they’ll all have turned into water babies, exuding a confidence on and around the water with a variety of sports.
The hotels have private gardens that run down to the beach, with the full range of equipment needed already there. Bikes, kayaks and boats to suit all ages are on display and if you’re reluctant to dip your toes in the water there’s a beach bar at every hotel to wet the gills and sit back and watch your kid’s progress.
The kids’ clubs are free to drop in or out of as they choose and are carefully structured to ensure all age groups are kept happy. With the plentiful activities on offer it’s more likely that your children will want to drop in every day to hang out with their new friends. Expect a range of fun things to do from powerboat rides into town, kayak safaris, treasure hunts and face painting. There are also pizza and movie nights; always a crowd-pleaser. The end of the week culminates in a barbecue and presentations, leaving everybody feeling just that little bit proud.
If you do manage to lure the children away from the fun on site, you can explore the region by boat or bike. The resorts are all close to picture postcard villages, with cafes, souvenir shops and tavernas that come alive at night.
